Mainly, I'm not recommending it because of a slew of translation issues and I personally don't like the images that come with it.. Game ended too quickly. I sat and spoke with the statue of Lady Alanis for the entire duration and then it just ended with us looking at the moon with a very vague story. I thought I would be able to proceed after our discussion but no, this was not the case. The verbiage is clearly written by a foreigner as a lot the writing required decyphering.. very atmospheric and interestingwas immediately pulled into the gameplaythe save features are greatdef worth the buy. very atmospheric and interestingwas immediately pulled into the gameplaythe save features are greatdef worth the buy. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn' work out.Of all the visual novels I've read, this one has to be the worst :/. Cyber City 2157 is a visual novel with 'Choose Your Own Adventure' style elements. You play through a day in the life ('dreams' included) of a resident of an ever-changing city trapped under a sun that never sets (just changes colour as it progresses). There are a few different paths your day can take, leading to multiple (generally strange) endings.. none of which are explained (not a lot is). While I'm usually okay with open ended stories and those in which I have no idea what's going on, Cyber City 2157 feels unfinished. Whether it is or whether a lot is simply lost in translation, I'm not sure. But unfortunately, as an English speaker (take that as you will ;) at least, I cannot recommend Cyber City 2157. While it's certainly an interesting setting and its paths/endings leave you thinking (even if it's mostly wtf? ;) ..for an already somewhat abtruse game, the fact that the translation is so poor makes it harder to parse. That said, it seems some have found an additional challenge in making sense of the translation - so if that's up your alley, by all means give it a go!
